DYBBUK BOX
A new horror story from Zenescope Entertainment, with Grimm Tales Of Terror Vol. 5 #4 and it’s out this week.
The Dybbuk is a malevolent spirit that can possess the body of a living being, bringing ill will and horrible outcomes to all those affected by it. But ancient tomes also speak of a way to hold these evil souls at bay, to keep them from destroying the lives of those they seek to control. And when Barry Shapiro’s life begins to be flipped upside down, with all signs pointing to the supernatural, he may have only one option to save his life—but at what cost?!

I enjoy reading about folklore, myths, and legends from different parts of the world, and learning a little about the Dybbuk was something I hadn’t heard of before.
This works as an enjoyable and satisfying read. There are some well-written characters here, and the majority of them are entirely unlikable, which gives us the satisfying results we experience throughout the story.
Combining grisly deaths, blood, and ghosts is an excellent combination, and I got into the speed at which this story is told as we jump from death to death! The possession aspect is clever, and it adds to both the mystery and the nature of the deaths.
Combined with this, there is some excellent art showcasing the transformation of the characters as they are taken over and the clever methods used to kill them off.
Another good one-shot story, with a clever ending and one piece of mythology I will be looking up!
