Review: Grimm Tales Of Terror Vol.5 #6
From Zenescope Entertainment
Serial killer horror this week from Zenescope Entertainment with a tale that may be inspired by something more in Grimm Tales Of Terror #6.
A serial murderer is on a killing spree in New York, and the city is paralyzed with fear. He hunts couples, and his M.O. is reminiscent of the infamous Zodiac Killer who terrorized San Francisco years ago. A detective is assigned to lead this grisly investigation, believing he has a copycat killer in his midst. But the truth is far more insidious—and dangerous.

This horror tale was somewhere in the middle. The link to the Zodiac Killer was well played, as was some of the commentary around the killer. Meanwhile, we get something extra and a little more modern since the original was around!
With modern news and social media, sometimes it is harder for the police to find out what is happening, and sometimes it could help.
This issue was well paced, with some significant time jumps as the killer makes their way through various couples. There is a reason behind these deaths, but is it to copy the original or something more sinister?
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Tale of Terror unless there was a twist, and there was one that I saw coming. That twist was obvious, but there is still some extra to enjoy and get into. As I said, it paces well and allows you to move past the guessed-at killer.
There is some good art here, with some good use of the deaths to pose the scenes, and the angles of some of the panels work well with the tension of the killer stalking people.
