Review: Grimm Tales Of Terror Volume 5 #7
From Zenescope
A new horror tale from Zenescope Entertainment this week with Grimm Tales Of Terror #7. Featuring The Slit Mouthed Woman!
She is known throughout the world by many names, in countless legends—always whispered in fear and dread. She is the Slit-Mouthed Woman, and when you see her, with the grotesque smile and bloody scissors in hand, you can only pray she doesn’t choose you to hear her fateful questions. And if she does…RUN!

Some classic horror here, mixing a good blend of horror, murder, myth and revenge!
The Slit Mouthed Woman is a classic character and the use of the character like this to teach a very violent lesson is well done.
I’ve seen about this myth before with varying results, and this does a good job of the type of myth we have and the characters involved. There is a reasonable degree of penance here for the main character, which works well for the final panel. I also like how the more conventional investigation is involved in this story, where these murders are looked at from a police angle, and the follow-through with that.
It’s a good done-in-one story with a well-paced beginning, middle and end. The artwork does an excellent job, and some of the silent panels, just showing reactions, are excellent.
