Review - Grimm Universe Presents Quarterly: Cinderella - Fairy World Massacre
From Zenescope Entertainment
Out this week, we get to see what Cinderella has been up to in Grimm Universe Presents Quarterly: Cinderella - Fairy World Massacre from Zenescope Entertainment.
Cindy is a Serial Killer Princess on a mission…er maybe a little vacation—No. Definitely a mission. As she is now thrust, like a sword through a skull, into the Fairy World, she will stop at nothing…well almost nothing--possibly for a bunch of fairy-related murders, but who knows-- to get her friend Gerald back. Taking on a bloodthirsty and psychotic being, these fairies don’t know what’s coming for them. Don’t miss this next chapter in Cinderella’s anything but sane journey to find herself…and a raccoon.

It’s been a while since we checked in on Cinderella, and it seems things are not going well for her.
Stuck in fairyland and still delusional and dangerous as ever, Cindy has to work out of many scrapes - some of her own making - to find her missing raccoon friend.
What follows is a madcap and violent escapade as Cinderella cuts through various fairytale folk. This is done not only in a gruesome way but inventively too. Some aspects are not done for violence’s sake either, there is a method (to the madness), which comes to a good ending.
There are some interesting references to what has happened to Cinderella in the past, as well as how she has come to be here - the getting out is problematic and has a good ending which leaves the door open (heh) for future adventures for the maniac.
Art-wise, you will see above that there are some separate art duties. This isn’t as jarring as you would think - those who have read some previous Cinderella stories will have known that the reality that Cindy is in, isn’t always what we see - in this case we get a bit of that, including a fun beginning in a dream, and then later on as Cinderella goes along the rainbow. It all fits in well and makes this large-sized issue flow as you read it.
This was a good fun issue, with the ending setting up some potential for the future!
