I seem to enjoy the horror-based stories from this time of year. Traditionally there were horror tales told over Christmas, and I find them more entertaining than at Halloween.
Zenescope Entertainment also enjoys horror at this time of year, with the Krampus being the usual guide. In this case, he is a guide, telling us the tales of festive horror and retribution over a linked narrative.
We get three tales here, all based around Las Vegas.
The characters are well told with a suitable amount of the story being told - taking advantage of the larger format of 72 pages.
You know the characters are going to get what is coming to them, and it is pleasurable to see them suffer for their ways.
From plane ride from hell and a manager who thinks he's the boss of everyone to a wannabe magician doing what he thinks it takes to be the best.
There are some good stories here to keep you going through the colder months.
The art is fun, and gruesome in some cases, with some good aspects to it. The monsters are especially well done, and there are some good small details that you catch that add to the story well. There are some good expressions of the characters, making them entertaining to read.
A good, fun horror read!
