With the first issue we got to know the band and the threats, now the second issue delves deeper into it all…
Guns Of Brixton #2 is out now on Comix.
Rachael, Bella, Jessy and Sheena have escaped to the relative safety of their flat, but violence has broken out across South London. As the band come to realise what is behind their survival thus far, they set out to rescue a friend and take the fight to the streets.
What they don't anticipate is exactly the sort of trouble their decision is going to get them into, or who they are going to encounter.
Guns of Brixton issue #2 picks up directly off the back of issue #1, continuing both the story and the one crazy night that will change the lives of Rachael & the Heads of State forever.

Somehow, this was a faster and more frantic issue than the first. It was pretty good going with the initial issue, which featured some excellent punk music and the initial zombie attack and escape.
This issue moves between a few different locations, going back and forth and working things out. In the background, we readers learn some new aspects as well, and this shadowy group still has some interesting secrets to tell.
I enjoyed the way this storytelling went. The road trip to the drug dealer and quickly became apparent where this rogue batch of cocaine came from. Nevertheless, it does bring the two factions together in a suitably violent manner.
Things escalate from there, and it looks like the band will have more to deal with in future issues. I’m expecting more twists and turns.
The artwork continues with a brilliant kinetic feel to it. The colours and action are well shown, drawing the eye around the page.
