Review - Huck: Big Bad World #2
From Dark Horse Comics
Huck’s latest adventures continue, with a new powerful individual and further questions about their powers. This is Huck: Big Bad World #2 from Dark Horse Comics.
Huck, his mother and this mysterious doctor with the keys to their past go on a road-trip to find the first of the other secret super-humans who have been hiding around the world. Unlike Huck, this first one is an assassin and using his abilities to make money.

This was an interesting second issue that didn’t go as expected. A pleasant surprise to read and an enjoyable second issue.
It’s not short on action either, as we get a good look at the powers of this new person and how they can be used (or abused). Even so, Huck seems to get out of the funk he was in and get into the job at hand. It’s a well-shot, short fight, but the art does an excellent job of showing both characters' strengths.
The resolution to this issue makes a lot of sense, and it is a feel-good moment with a semblance of revenge for the unwilling assassin. There is a lot of humanity here, and the way it links the new characters and their family is well done.
I still don’t trust the person who brought this mission to Huck, though; he seems to have some motive that I can’t see yet. The twist at the end here may have something to do with it.
Roll on the next issue!
