Review - Huck: Big Bad World #3
From Dark Horse Comics
Huck’s quest continues, and there is more to learn here in Huck: Big Bad World #3 from Dark Horse Comics.
Huck, his mother and the mysterious Dr Harper travel the world meeting people who have gifts like theirs. This time they meet a girl who can bring anything back to life. But why are the super-people in hiding? What are they AFRAID of?
by Mark Millar (Author), Rafael Albuquerque (Cover Art, Artist), Dave Mccaig (Colorist), Clem Robins (Letterer)
This story really spreads the world of Huck out, and in this issue the stakes are raised (again) and the hints towards the threats are also involved.
It moves a lot faster here, and we learn more about those with special abilities and where they came from. It speeds up the story and gives us some interesting characters. The missing ones are interesting, and they are linked to the mysterious organisation that seems to be doing the same as Huck and his mother.
The response to these powers is very well done, not all of them are as helpful as you would think - especially to those who are in fear of being caught and possible used.
The artwork does a sterling job here and the use of the panels, with the art and colours really convey some excellent moments of motion and emotion!
This is an excellent mid-point of the story, with an interesting cliffhanger to the end of the issue, that leads us into the final three issues. Some excellent pacing.
