Review: Killer Kobra #2
The second part from Zenescope
The Hunt Begins
From Zenescope Entertainment this week is Kobra Killer #2, which features more action and adventure at the midpoint of the adventure.
After barely escaping a brutal encounter with the towering monster believed to be Bigfoot, Killer Kobra finds himself wounded and stranded in the unforgiving wilderness. But survival isn’t his only challenge—along the way, he crosses paths with the most unexpected duo yet: Phil and Floyd, aka Man Goat and the Bunnyman. Kobra must decide if they are friends, or the deadliest of foes? As tensions rise and truths come to light, he’s forced to question everything he thought he knew about monsters. One thing’s for sure—this mission is far from over, and the real monsters may not be who he expected.

We arrive at the mid-point of this mini-series in quick order, and many things are happening in this issue.
There is a link to the Zenescope Legends one-shot, which, to be honest, I am pretty pleased about. It gives Killer Kobra a very visible foe and a disposable number of minions to dispatch.
There is also a link to two other Zenescope characters—Man-Goat and Bunnyman. After the classic misunderstanding, they look to be on the same side, bonding while they look for the monster behind the campers' deaths.
I’ve just summarised a lot of the issue in a short paragraph, and admittedly, there is more to it than that. There are mysterious groups with vested interests and some suspicion on all sides over who or what is responsible.
I enjoyed the artwork here, and along with various monsters, there is a lot of action in a mainly wooded area - a lot of green (including Killer Kobra’s costume), and the action is still well played out.
The issue leaves a lot for the final issue, and I suspect this mini-series will serve as a ‘year zero’ for the character, kicking off various events and adventures.
