The latest issue of the big plan is out now; it’s Nemesis: Reloaded #3 from Image Comics.
The secret origin of Nemesis. You DO NOT want to miss this. That is all.
by Mark Millar (Author), Jorge Jiménez (Cover Art, Artist)
I don’t trust anything I read in this book. It’s too simple. Revenge? Pah! There must be more of it than that - or is that the ultimate twist?
Were we right all along?
Am I overthinking this?
Anyway.
This was an excellent issue - not only did we get some excellent action, with Nemesis continuing his plan. He seems to have planned for every eventuality - including the National Guard. How he deals with them is a blast, with a dark lead-up to the eventual reveal.
The Mayor seems to have cottoned on to his plan too, and what he is up to - is this all a high-level distraction? I don’t know, but the way it is all playing out is special, not only showing off the brains but the skills of this villain.
Art-wise there is a lot to show, and the action makes up most of it. There are some excellent close-up scenes, with that trademark Nemesis grin playing well, and the big set pieces are excellent, with the battle against the National Guard being one that made me take a second look at an earlier page - very clever.
As the story progresses, we get a look at more of the ‘origin’ of Nemesis, and I like the play on this and the conspiracy within. If I trust it or not, is a different question…
