Now moved over to Dark Horse Comics, the work of Mark Millar returns with the comeback from the worst of the worst. Nemesis returns after the Big Game, and here’s what happens next in Nemesis: Rogues’ Gallery #1.
From best-selling, award-winning creator Mark Millar (Civil War, Kingsman), Millarworld and Dark Horse Comics are proud to present the debut of a brand-new arc of the bestselling thriller: Nemesis. Immediately following the events of the smash-hit Big Game, Nemesis lies broken and destroyed, but hell-bent on vengeance against every single person who wronged him. The bloody fire back begins here as he marshals together a plan for the ages.

After the big battle in the preceding Millarverse mini-series, this is what happens next. Nemesis was the catalyst to all of this, and he made it through the Big Game—nearly. Wrapped up and unable to move due to his injuries, we see how he is being looked after. Soon after, some good comments come to the fore about how he is, and there is also the member of staff looking for revenge.
The problem is that this revenge plot comes at the same time a rescue mission is being put into place. A dark, violent and explosive rescue follows where Nemesis is brought somewhere new.
This issue is all about the return. Nemesis has to heal and put himself back together. That is done not without cost, and some mystical arts are used to get him back to where he was before. Then, the planning of the revenge tour starts.
There is a good tease as to what comes next—both in terms of what Nemesis wants and those who will oppose him. It will be interesting to see proactive opposition to Nemesis. Usually, the character is the one on the attack, and those he is against are reacting to him.
The art is grim and gritty, but it has some excellent scenes and the use of Nemesis in his negative state was well done.
I look forward to seeing what comes next!
