Out this week from Dark Horse Comics, the revenge tour continues to build in Nemesis: Rogues Gallery #3.
Nemesis has murdered thousands of innocent people over the course of his career, but these actions have consequences when four fathers of slaughtered kids get together with super-tech technology and decide to take him down hard.
Author: Mark Millar
Artist: Valerio Giangiordano
We are starting to get towards the end goal of this story. Nemesis and his ‘ward’ are settling into their dual roles and I love the underlying commentary behind it all. The fact that they have to keep up the facade is well done, as are the results behind it.
Then there is the action. First up, a high-altitude heist that allows the duo to gain the equipment they are after for the next part of the story. It’s well played out and I like the doubt that is there as well. Things do work out for the two and we are swanning off to the party of the rich and famous.
This is where the fun begins and the use of the previously stolen technology is used. I like the references to it, and how it is used to allow the theft to go ahead.
There is a great twist at the end, that did have me worried about how things were to move forward, and this - along with the final panel - adds a new dimension to the battle that is sure to happen in the next issue.
