The second issue of Night Club is out now from Image Comics, bringing together writer Mark Millar and artist Juanan Ramirez as the story continues…
Danny Garcia is a High School student who was bitten by a vampire, but he isn’t going to mope around and be some annoying goth. He’s going to be a superhero, and he’s bitten his best friends too so they can form a team. This is going to be great.

Following straight on from the stinger of the last issue, this one builds on that and adds to the enjoyment.
I can’t help feeling that things are going to go downhill soon, though.
Danny is well done here, and his appearance to his friends is well played out - not only showing their initial fear but also Danny’s powers.
Danny convinces his friends that this is the way to go, and there is some excellent dialogue between the three of them, with some hesitation…
That is passed over, and we get some excellent scenes with the three of them leaping over the rooftops. There is some excellent dynamic art, along with some cutting commentary on superheroes bounding over the city. This art is shown off well when it comes to a jarring halt due to another piece of vampire lore.
The conclusion of this issue finishes well, with the well-played fantasy of getting one up on the bullies - how will this play out? I don’t think it will end well in the long run, but I’m sure it will feel good in the short term.
This was an excellent second issue, with more about the vampires and adding to the club. The art is played out well, with some bloody and fast-moving panels being shown.
Well worth the lower price too!
