The final part of the Oz mini-series concludes this week in Oz: Fall Of The Emerald City #3 from Zenescope Entertainment.
Polychrome has taken control of Emerald City and all of the Kingdoms of Oz now bow to her seemingly benevolent will. Dorothy Gale has discovered the dark secret that threatens to destroy everything and has begun to fight back--but with her allies already in the thrall of the Empress, is it already too late?

Concluding the story, but by no means finishing off Oz with a ‘happy ever after’.
This has been a good story, although I did feel like it could have been stretched over five issues rather than the three we have here. There are a number of questions still left unanswered - including the big cliffhanger at the end of this story. That is the main one, but there are some interesting threads that can be picked up for the future. I think that there are some aspects to look forward to in the world of Oz.
In this issue, there are some interesting alliances made, these are problematic and the characters know it, but there is a larger problem in Polychrome to deal with here. I really like how that Dorothy et all is aware of this problema and they just hope they have the power to deal with this in the future.
The action is well played out, with a good combination of the magic and physical action. In addition to this we get an interesting combination of different types (colours) of magic as well. This means that the art and colouring does have their work cut out for them.
There are some sacrifices made here and I enjoyed not only Polychrome’s reactions, but also those around her. There is some real worry in the faces of them all.
This was an enjoyable mini-series and a good ending leading to a quest that obviously comes next. It wasn’t too heavy on the Oz lore either, making it easier than some - for example Wonderland - to get into.
