Oz has gone through some changes recently. It has been under attack from it’s past and had a new ruler. The mantle seems to have gratefully been given up by Dorothy, and a weight off of her shoulders.
Even so, things are not all great in Oz and a magical power is making itself known and attacking villages. These attacks are having the knock-on effect of causing distrust between other tribes with the realm.
This issue has a good build to the beginning of this story, with a nice tease to what to expect from this issue. It also shows a lot of the different areas of Oz, the people, and the magic involved. The classic group also works well, with their different skills and methods.
This was a good beginning story with a cliffhanger finish of the issue.
