From Mark Millar and Matteo Buffagni this week is the third issue of this new story arc. This is Prodigy: The Icarus Society #3 from Image Comics.
Meet Felix Koffka, the richest man alive. He owns the car Kennedy was assassinated in, the plane they dropped the atomic bomb from, and the vaccine to the pandemic he plans to create next year. He works at a level no one else can even understand, and now Edison Crane is working for him.
Kicking off with an interesting flashback adds a new dimension to the quest in this arc. It’s interesting as the ending of this flashback seemed to just be a buffer, with some shock value. It does build into the larger story, and I wonder where that will lead.
The fact that Edison Crane has a group of foils that are as clever and skilled as he is shown off here really well. I like the bragging aspect, which will make the fall even greater.
The pacing is well played out, with some nice comments and reactions by the characters. There are some great action scenes, with a well-played-out betrayal and good tension.
I do wonder how this will finish up…
The art is great and crisp; the combination of that, the inks and the colours link up well and show the action and reactions.
This was a good middle issue as we moved toward the end.
