Hot on the heels of issue #10, Space Ghost is still reeling from the events of the Space Spectre, and now there is doom to contend with. It’s out now from Dynamite Comics.
This issue, THE COUNCIL OF DOOM! When the greatest villains of the Galaxy come together with one purpose, can Space Ghost and his young allies possibly survive? The answers lie within these very pages!
Written by David (Punisher) Pepose and drawn by Dynamite superstar Jonathan Lau, issue #1 features an array of the most incredible artists in the known Galaxy: Bjorn Barends, Francesco Mattina, Jae Lee and Anthony Marques!
After the events of the previous adventure, with a warning from the future, the team are shaken. Space Ghost is off on his own and the kids are left to their own devices. The team are fractured, and it’s at this point the doom that was threatened attack.
This Council of Doom take in the worst foes that Space Ghost has faced in the previous issues and now they are taking down Space Ghost at his home!
It’s pretty dark stuff and the trio barely survive, and things certainly look bleak. Nevertheless, there may be some ways out of this.
I loved how this was set up, with some returns being a surprise, as well as plenty of action throughout. We, as the reader understand why Space Ghost is being like he is - it doesn’t mean he’s doing it right, it’s just understandable.
The kids as well, they have their own reasons and don’t understand why things are the way they are. It’s at this moment of weakness and bitterness that the Council of Doom attack.
One thing I wonder is how long can this council work together. They all have a common enemy and that makes sense, but past than - who knows!
There’s still more to come, and I look forward to this series, which is becoming a must-read for me!
