Kicking off this new arc we begin with an interesting flashback. We get to see what started Space Ghost along this path of crime-fighting and who was responsible for it all. This, along with some exposition, gives us a lot of information.
Along with this information, we get plenty of action, too. This kicks off with the team assisting a space hijack, with some brilliant space action to go with it. The problem is that this attack—and who is behind it—brings things rushing back to Space Ghost. This means that he shoots off as a stowaway to avenge the deaths of his family.
Leaving the kids behind, they cleverly manage to splice into Metallus’ system and see what is happening, all the while trying to find out his weaknesses.
Things don’t go well, as Space Ghost is uncovered, and the kids are left alone.
This was a fantastic and gripping issue that adds a further layer to the mystery of Space Ghost and a new villain to the larger aspects of the universe. I enjoyed the kids' ingenuity in finding out. It may not have worked how they wanted, but even so, it shows that they aren’t along for the ride.
The art and colouring continue to be excellent, with the various locations showing well and I especially enjoy the artwork in the space battles.
This ended with a classic cliffhanger and I look forward to see how this is dealt with.
