A new humorous comic is now available digitally from Kevin Maher. This is Toxic Man!
Kevin Maher, logo designer for Comixology Original’s Forgotten Home, Dark Horse’s Deadliest Bouquet and others, to release first digital comic in February.
Toxic Man looks at some of the classic superhero tropes and adds some excellent humour, madcap action and even a little heart.
This is a well-played story, starting us off at the bottom of a bottle, with the mourning of Toxic Man’s ward. Things turn for the worse as his time drowning his sorrows makes things get worse as he is set up for murder, and things get worse!
It has a fun cast - with a Wolverine-type Dark Knight and giant pink mech suits. This combination helps build on all the action we get throughout, with some zany fight scenes and a well-played-out story.
This is a fun read, with some excellent cartoon art and significant aspects with bombastic explosions and appearances.
Toxic Man was a fun read that had the combination of keeping me hooked throughout the story and having a smile on my face all the way through - worth checking out, and I hope to see more!
Art director, designer, and illustrator, Kevin Maher, best known for his design work on Comixology Original’s Forgotten Home, Dark Horse’s Deadliest Bouquet, and others will be launching his first creator owned digital comic, Toxic Man, in February.
What happens when a washed-up, drunk, middle-aged hero loses his sidekick in an unexpected tragedy? A mystery is revealed through a series of hilarious circumstances that he must solve with the help of allies and enemies, all while trying to stay sober!
Toxic Man was created by Kevin as a teenager, and is now finally brought to life in a humor filled first volume. Perfect for fans who enjoy a good glass of whiskey and poking fun at the superhero genre in the spirit of the mid-eighties Justice League International.
Toxic Man will be available on GlobalComix, Amazon Kindle and on Kevin’s own site, kevinmaherdesign.com, on Wednesday, February 22, 2023.
