Review: Transformers #36
Transformers #36 continues the high-stakes battler in this issue from IDW Publishing.
“Sea of Rust,” part two! Termagax has many secrets–information that could forever tip the scales in the favor of the Autobots or the Decepticons. As the Decepticons close in, she allows Optimus Prime and the two other Autobots she respects into her inner sanctum to share her knowledge. But will the Autobots be able to act on it before the Decepticons start their siege? And where does Skywarp factor into the equation?

This issue was pretty much all action before Skywarp turned up.
First, we have the clones battling it out with the Decepticons, while Optimus continues his negotiations. Then we get the arrival that messes it all up.
Skywarp, with his powers, make the battle slightly redundant, zooming in to steal the combination matrix. If it wasn't for a similarly powered Autobot, it would have been all over then.
The teleporting battle thereafter is pretty well laid out, confusing in a good way, with some excellent scenes and crazy fights.
This is only part two of the story, but it seems like there is more to come. The Sea of Rust comes artfully into play here, and it's finished seems pretty final - until it isn't and there is a slight glimmer of hope for one side.
Then there is the other ending and something evil from Cybertron's past...
An excellent issue with a lot happening and a fast pace.
