Review - Transformers: Shattered Glass #4
The alternate universe continues as the brave Decepticons battle against the evil Autobots in Transformers: Shattered Glass #4 from IDW Publishing.
In issue #4, Goldbug, a vicious warlord formerly known as Bumblebee, must become the leader that Optimus Prime failed to be as he fights Decepticons and commands Autobots to extract information from Starscream.

We get a lot more to flashback to in this issue. First there is the crux of the war as we see Bumblebee/Goldbug and his role in the war.
His relationship with Optimus Prime is very interesting and it hammers home that this isn't the Optimus Prime that we are used to. His attitude and methods are very different to what we normally see.
The Bumblebee to Goldbug transformation is well done and the delusions of grandeur that he has are very interesting. As is his reactions to what is going on.
This is a pretty fast-moving issue, with some jarring flashbacks to the previous times. The plotting and scheming by the other Autobots are intriguing as there are the signs of the factions being formed by the different groups. Goldbug carving out his own little niche too.
The Jetfire and Starscream relationship is expanded on here, and you can see why he is hesitant to torture his friend anymore - the threats by Goldbug and the fact that control of a titan is at stake make it all the tenser.
I enjoyed the art in this issue, with some good action scenes and reaction shots to the various goings-on - Prowl looks downright evil.
A good issue that moves the story on well.
