After Van Helsing’s recent adventures, it was my thought that she was going to start something new. Cunningly, she isn’t - kind of. Taking in Van Helsing’s recent history and previous adventures, Van Helsing has a new quest. This time it is to get home.
Stuck in Neverland, she discovers that others are there with non-too-good intentions. From here and the introduction, we get a good flashback info-dump, which lays out what happened since her brush with Frankenstein and her and Julie landing in Neverland.
It’s a twist I hadn’t seen coming and links up nicely with the Frankenstein technology and some previous adventures.
We now have a way forward for Van Helsing, and she has made herself a couple of enemies along the way. One of these is obvious, but the other may cause some trouble in the future, and it’s good to see Van Helsing recognise him for what he is and rolling with it.
This was a good issue, with some nice reminders of adventures gone by. I like the art, with the mix of Neverland and Steampunk in this issue - it is an interesting mix, and the colour and art choices work out well.
