The second issue of this series from Dark Horse Comics. There is a lot to learn in lore here in Vatican City #2.
The siege continues with the last humans on Earth trapped behind the walls of Vatican City as billions of vampires wait outside, afraid of the holy relics. But something is buried beneath the Vatican itself and the vampires want it more than even the human blood inside.

I was unaware that this is the mid-point of this series. Even so, as mid-points go, there is a lot to take in here, with myths, legends and the truth of the vampires to learn about.
It has a fantastic cast and some well-played-out ideas, utilising certain weapons and a sound bargaining chip.
I wonder if this story will link into another Millerverse story, such as The Magic Order, as it seems like it may do and could easily do so.
I like the art styling here, and the mayhem around the world and closer in is well shown, with some great big panels as well as the tight shots. I also got a good sense of the colouring in this, with some clever uses of red in the flashbacks, which give the tale a dark tone.
The cliffhanger is intriguing, and there are a lot of different ways this story could go…
