From Vault Comics, the new series Door To Door, Night By Night continues, and the second arc of West Of Sundown ramps up the horror.
Door To Door, Night By Night #2
Fred and the rest of "the best damned door-to-door sales team" have always had a knack for getting into trouble, but now that they've witnessed supernatural forces first-hand, they can't help but spot monsters, ghosts, and foul ne'er-do-wells wherever they go. Case in point, they've stumbled upon an infestation of otherworldly goblins in Hopkinsville, who are driving the townsfolk to murder! And when the team can't trust their own eyes, how will they face the minions of evil?

Following the first issues’ introduction, we get what happens next…
The team goes to a new town to sell their wares, and they begin to notice that the townsfolk is acting strangely.
After an interesting interaction with one of them, they settle for the night. Only to be visited by a strange creature. This creature does make a run for it but seemingly returns. That is when things get really strange.
This is a good beginning to a new arc, with some humour added here and a new threat to this town. It looks like this threat is different from the previous one, with some good aspects and a different outlook from the previous monster. The banter between the cast is well done, and we get some good flashbacks of them all - I expect to see more of these in future issues.
The art continues to tow that line well between the serious aspects, the fantastic and the humour, with some nicely shown scenes and expressions.
West Of Sundown #7
The new residents of Sangre De Moro have barely moved in when the arrival of the mysterious Dr. Moreau begins to split them apart. What horrors lie at the end of the railroad? And what terrible secrets hide beneath Sheriff Abilene's floppy eared mask?
Writers: Tim Seeley & Aaron Campbell, Artist: Jim Terry, Colorist: Triona Farrell, Letterer: Crank! & Designer: Tim Daniel
Building on the shock and horror of the last issue, it seems there is some dissension in the ranks among the townfolks. There are also some stories yet to be told. I like how this bit is teased, with an excellent no-context flashback that piques our curiosity and adds something else to this dark story.
Meanwhile, there are other horrors in the old west, and the separate groups all seem to be encountering different ones. I like how the parties have been split, with some very different scenes and some interesting outcomes. These horror icons are well played out in this new setting, and I love their use.
The art is well played out, with some great scenes, especially the monster flying through the air and subsequent panels from interesting angles. The colouring suits the story well, with some dusty tones and the use of light (and blood).
What comes next?
