From the mind of Mark Millar and published by Dark Horse Comics, there are two new issues out this week - Night Club 2 #3 and The Magic Order 5 #2.
Night Club 2 #3
The Night Club was started when three best friends tried to make the most of being vampires and decided to use their powers for good. Now they’re split down the middle and Sam has become the leader of a new gang of vampires he’s created out of the school’s worst bullies.

Well…!
Things are not going well. Sam’s bad decisions have come home to roost, and more vampires are in town.
This is not good for the whole Night Club, and this issue is a sustained beating for them all.
It’s well played out, and the use of the vampire powers and their weaknesses is well done. I see a glimmer of a way out here and hope it does come this way - but even so, this was an excellent, fast-paced issue with some outstanding bits of characters, artwork and effects.

The Magic Order 5 #2
Cordelia Moonstone was raised to believe her family was all the stood between the world we know and eternal darkness. But has it all been in her imagination? Is she really a woman with serious mental health problems and the monsters only exist in her head?

As far as torture goes, this is particularly nasty. Especially for someone like Cordelia! This was an excellent issue showing the lengths those against the Order (or Cordelia specifically) are willing to go.
Even so, some still support her and pull her out and to safety (just). I loved how this world and the flashes of the ‘real’ world were put together, and there were some brilliant action scenes and the use of magic.
This is an intriguing story, and I look forward to seeing how it goes.
