Reviews, Notes, Links: Tales From The Quarantine And A News Round-Up
The latest news, notes and links from 3 Million Years
An end-of-week roundup to you, plus some commentary.
Remember Tales From The Quarantine? Yes, it still hasn’t arrived, and I did proclaim it dead. I also was one of the few to get a refund. Well, for those still waiting or interested in the timeline, Evan Benner has had enough and produced a timeline with commentary to see what was promised and by when.
Frazer Brown has many questions to answer but seems to be just spending his time making whimsical YouTube videos or TikToks.
Pick of the week
John Constantine, Hellblazer – Dead in America #1
By Simon Spurrier (Author), Aaron Campbell (Cover Art, Penciller, Inker), Jordie Bellaire (Colorist)
I’m really glad to see the return of John Constantine. Following up on the previous series, it looks like we’re getting an entertaining road trip across America. Dark humour and magic are here, and I can’t wait to read more.
We have a new Hugo Pratt release from the Treasury of British Comics in the news.
There is the return of an ongoing manga series from Shonen Jump, which is available to read online for free.
Mad Cave Studios has released more information on their upcoming Dick Tracy series - which I am really looking forward to.
Devil’s Due Studios has an ongoing Kickstarter campaign; Club Nephilim is a spinoff from their popular Mercy Sparx series.
And there is a new science-fiction Kickstarter from Magenteic Press.
The latest issue of The Nasty came out this week from Vault Comics. This is an excellent series, and it really hits home for me. There are some great bits of humour and character work here.
Mad Cave Studios has had a lot coming out or announced recently, and they make up the majority of this news brief. There is also updated news on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Best of 2000 AD and news of the latest volume of Afterlife Inc from Big Punch Studios.
The latest issue of 2000 AD is now out - Prog 2365 from Rebellion continues on some excellent stories, and there is a great mix of genres for all of you out there.
