Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #137
Official Armageddon Game tie-in! Donnie’s willing to do anything to defend his new friend Triceraton Regenta Seri from Ch’rell’s Utrom assassins, but some lines are not meant to be crossed. Now, the crisis in Mutant Town has escalated beyond anything Donnie could have ever imagined and Ch’rell is taking matters into his own hands. This issue is a big tie-in to the Armageddon Game and has some interesting outcomes - not only for the game itself but also for the future stories to come for the TMNT. With the Utrom’s now going for a big attack and Triceraton Regenta Seri needing protection. This issue is a blast and has some good battles and moments. First, though, there is a good moment of Donatello with his new found powers that he has - these make some good use in the story and will be interesting to see how that goes moving forward.
The battle itself is well done and has a resolution to it, but not the resolution that some wanted - nevertheless, this works well and builds for the future.
It’s difficult to say what issue to read first over these titles, but they link really well. The return of the the brothers is excellent.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Armageddon Game #5
WILD CARDS! As the unexpected events in Dimension X and Dimension Z play out for Michelangelo, Leonardo, and the Shredder, the Armageddon Game on Earth continues to spiral out of control for Donatello, Jennika, and Raphael! For both heroes and villains alike, the rules continue to change as new players are introduced to the Rat King’s nefarious game for control of the world. And now the remainder of the Pantheon siblings are paying attention to the cataclysm their trickster brother has wrought. Will the immortal demigods remain on the sidelines, or will they be the next wild cards added to an already chaotic deck?! Writer Tom Waltz (TMNT: The Last Ronin) and artist Vincenzo Federici (Red Sonja) are your game masters as we kick off the second bombastic half of…TMNT: The Armageddon Game!

This issue has a real alien feel to it. With Krang and Ch’rell duking it out in their mech suits (heh!) and this has some interesting ramifications for its species, other species and the Earth. The finish was very interesting and I like the way it played out through to the end. What effect this has on the Armageddon Game will be interesting.
the adventures of Leonardo and Shredder were well done, with this ‘other’ aspect of Leonardo coming out, and some great fight scenes. The Shredder slightly reverting to type was well done, and Leo’s reaction and change was character perfect.
This is all building up to an interesting conclusion!
