After the sudden stop of the last issue, there are many investigations. Going deeper, we learn not only some interesting facts but also some history of one of the characters in the background. There’s a lot going on in this issue with April, Casey, and the new turtles.
This issue isn’t short on action, with some excellent fight scenes towards the end, and combined with some clever character moments between the characters and also those in the background. Considering the size of the issue, it is a credit to how much has been squeezed in.
I liked the build in this issue and it finishes with an equally interesting cliffhanger. I like how we are learning more and more about the personalities of the family of mutants, along with what came next after the fall of the Foot Clan in the area. A worthy addition to the TMNT universe of the Last Ronin.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Untold Destiny Of The Foot Clan #4
Karai returns to the source of her power, the place where she first found her amazing sword, the Kira no Ken. With her are Casey Jones, Natsu, and Clyde-all on a mission as dictated by Toshiro himself. But what they find in the dark cave of secrets are things they don’t want to confront: their own dark fears manifested in the form of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
These guys are hard enough to fight in the real world, but think how bad it must be when they are, instead, figments of your own soul and privy to your worst fears and weaknesses!
This has been an excellent mini-series with some interesting revelations for the Foot Clan, their past and potentially their future. Karai is powering up, and her and her colleagues have to go through some interesting tests in order to discover themselves.
It adds some interesting padding, not only to the story being told here, but also to the characters as a whole and how they are going to move on afterwards. Casey Jones was especially special here in his test and I like the way he is trying to be better. Even though he is working with Karai.
As with all magic there is a price and Karai pays it. I like the reveal of this and wonder where it will lead to later.
I loved the art style here, mixing the magical and action elements well, while also adding a lot of emotion.
This is a good penultimate issue and it sets up nicely for the finale of the story.
