Round Up - Detectives, Films And Conventions Coming Up!
A round-up on what happened and happening
It’s been a while, so I thought I would grace you with a bit of a round-up of the latest happening here, outside of the reviews, previews and crowdfunders. Substack, which powers this site, has introduced tags now, so you can find reviews, previews and more by searching for the various tags.
I was up in London recently, and when you get out at Tottenham Court Road station, you are confronted with the Outernet Building. It always has magnificent displays, and sometimes it’s hard to get a good picture. It snakes its way up and totally immerses you—something to check out.
Some big news from New York Comic Con from 2000 AD. With two special editions coming. One is an apex edition featuring the art of Steve Dillon; the other comes from the Regened pages (all ages) of 2000 AD with a magic school with a difference in Lowborn High.
Also, from NYCC, GlobalComix has formally launched its app for both Apple and Android devices. This is an excellent app, with many publishers and indie creators on board. A true alternative to the stranglehold of the larger distributors.
Vault Comics is going from strength to strength. With some excellent stories coming from them, they have now announced who we can look forward to in 2024. There are some names I recognise here, and some I don’t. I think it’s great how they promote the creators like this too.
I mentioned New York Comic Con earlier, and although I’m not there, I look forward to attending a couple of conventions in the next few weeks.
I’ll be at MCM Comic Con in October, on the Friday this year. This is a big one, with comics, movies, TV, anime and more involved. Even so, it is always entertaining with the cosplay.
I’m also travelling ‘up North’ to Thought Bubble, it’s the comic show, and I will be meeting so many people!
Hopefully, I’ll see you there.
