Space Ghost Soars Into Second Annual Ahead of Star-Spanning Event
The Space Ghost Annual #2 launches in July, concluding “Season Two” and teasing a Herculoids crossover.
As the summer heats up, fans are invited to join Space Ghost in soaring through another awesome comics annual from the critically acclaimed creative team helmed by David Pepose and Jonathan Lau!

Space Ghost Annual #2 lifts off this July, once again serving as an extra-sized, fun-filled capstone to the past dozen issues aka "Season Two" as well as teeing up teases for what's to come next in the best-selling series from Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.
"The Hanna-Barbera Universe is about to get a whole lot bigger in the pages of Space Ghost," said series writer David Pepose. "It's been such an incredible gift to work on the galaxy's greatest superheroes with my amazing collaborators Jonathan Lau, Andrew Dalhouse, and Taylor Esposito — and we're only just getting started! We are truly grateful for all the incredible support of the readers, retailers, and press who have championed our run from the very beginning — with Space Ghost Annual #2, we're wrapping up our second year with action, excitement, and heart, setting the stage for more exciting Space Ghost adventures to come!"
Pepose (Speed Racer, Captain Planet, Cable: Love & Chrome) continues his approach to the character and mythos that has been showered with praise for melding the original whimsical DNA of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon with pulse-pounding superhero storytelling. With most issues being one-off stories or short arcs, each and every issue offers readers something special as the larger stories continue developing. Prolific powerhouse artist Jonathan Lau (Red Sonja, Green Hornet) brings all that energy and more to the page, with his dream project allowing him to fully unleash the action he's mastered.
Space Ghost, Jan, and Jace are trying to mourn their recent losses, but get hit with a massive curveball when the master thief Magnus and his mysterious, reality-warping partner known only as The Alien set out on a dangerous heist. They're on the case to discover the deadly secret behind this mind-bending, cosmic crime spree.
In addition to the madness of Magnus, this can't-miss comic book annual also acts as a prelude to the next Space Ghost adventure, as the space-faring squad careen towards a historic meeting with... The Herculoids! More info on that thrilling crossover are coming soon!
The issue features covers by Lau, Bjorn Barends, Tom Raney, as well as superhero genre icon Jerry Ordway (Adventures of Superman, All-Star Squadron, Crisis on Infinite Earths).
Fire and Ice’s Mysterious Darkwolf Stars in Series by Dan Panosian
Dan Panosian and Andrey Lunatik are helming the series focusing on the mysterious warrior Darkwolf. Fire and Ice: Darkwolf is launching this summer.
The brutal sword and sorcery mythos of Fire and Ice brings even more exciting comics action this summer with a brand-new series turning the spotlight to the fierce and mysterious Darkwolf, with creators Dan Panosian and Andrey Lunatik at the helm!
Born from the immortal imagination of master fantasy illustrator and painter Frank Frazetta and genius animation innovator Ralph Bakshi, the character of Darkwolf is one of the most memorable and signature parts of their historic team-up for Fire and Ice. The muscled warrior hides his true identity behind an iconic mask. Eventually in the thick of the film's plot he crosses paths with Larn and Teegra, and fells Nekron by his own hands.

In this new series by Dan "Urban Barbarian" Panosian, readers will get to know — but not too much — the legendary Darkwolf before those events. It all begins when a mother and her twins flee the warlock who sired them. His lackeys are sent out to pursue them, at least until a fabled warrior descends from the mountains to unleash hell upon them. But saving them is only the beginning.
"Darkwolf is pure Frank Frazetta in its most raw and unfiltered form," said writer Dan Panosian. "Wild, savage and let loose upon a world as terrifying as he is!”
Panosian is joined by artist Andrey Lunatik, making his mainstream debut here. He brings his energetic ink-slinging style that perfectly matches the pulse-pounding adventures and combat of Darkwolf.
The legend of Darkwolf begins here. It's violent, mythic, and unrelenting. This is a fierce, visceral rebirth of a true barbarian force of nature. Readers will not want to miss this exhilarating epic! With a lineage including Frazetta and Bakshi, every Fire and Ice comic has a tall task to live up to with not only the interior art but also covers. Darkwolf is displayed in all his ferocious glory by Panosian himself, as well as Stjepan Šejić, Joe Jusko, Stuart Sayger, and Cary Nord. Both Jusko and Nord are legends within barbarian comics, and are complemented with more perfect fits for the genre.
Fire and Ice: Darkwolf adds to the growing lore for the franchise, with a flagship prequel comic, and specials focused on Teegra and Nekron to date, from creators including Bill Willigham, Leonardo Manco, Gabriele di Caro,
Geof Isherwood, and Frank Frazetta's granddaughter Sara!
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Stakes Her Way Into New Comic by Kelly Thompson
A new Buffy comic launching July 27th, drawing in the cast of Angel and news of an upcoming Angel series too!
Initially announced and teased at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Dynamite Entertainment is now proud to reveal further details and a launch date for their Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic book. This new era of tales with writer Kelly Thompson (Absolute Wonder Woman) and artist Stephen Byrne at the helm starts July 27th everywhere comics are sold!
Into every generation, a slayer is born. Headstrong, empathetic, and creative, Buffy Summers was a uniquely potent slayer. And in the seemingly idyllic California town of Sunnydale, she found friends and allies that made her particularly effective and beloved. She saved the world. A lot.

Though Thompson has kept the mysterious plot closely guarded -- the oversized first issue kicks off an event story that draws in the cast of both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. Fans can expect to see all their favorite characters from both shows racing to deal with this wild new development in Sunnydale. Emotions are running high, and of course there’s a mythic new villain on the scene. It just wouldn’t be Sunnydale without some big bad trying to destroy the world in the midst of a personal crisis.Picking up at a pivotal point in the character’s chronology, this is a must-read for any die-hard fan of the show, but also a cool moment to join the fandom for the first time with an epic event that brings all the characters together for one big story that points to the heart of everything Buffy The Vampire Slayer has always been about. The series includes the comics debut of a beloved Buffy character, and a massive twist that will shake the faithful fandom to the core. This is a vision of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that has to be read to be believed!
Eisner Award-winning writer Kelly Thompson continues a scorching hot run of Absolute Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Captain Marvel, Black Widow and more by taking on a franchise she has cherished for years. She will not only be writing the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer series, but a companion Angel title, with further details on the latter to come.
"Buffy Summers is, in my opinion, one of the best modern heroes of science-fiction/fantasy," said Thompson. "The show was wildly inspirational for a young Kelly, and like so many things that feel very lucky in my life, I’m not sure I’m a writer today without encountering Buffy at the right moment. This idea for Buffy has been sitting with me for a long time – and so when the chance to grab both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel came along, I couldn’t resist trying it. I hope you guys will enjoy the ride -- it comes from a place of deep love for the franchise – and I’ll try my best to be worthy of it."
Artist Stephen Byrne has delighted readers with his inimitable style on titles including Justice League / Power Rangers, Wonder Twins, Green Arrow, and Mera: Tidebreaker. Another longtime fan of Buffy, fans can check out his character designs and an early sneak peek at the book.
Byrne added, "I’ve been a lifelong Buffyverse obsessive and I’ve got the VHS boxsets and DVDs to prove it. Working on this comic with such a phenomenal writer is a surreal dream come true, and I still can’t quite believe it. I can’t wait for fans to see what Kelly has planned."
The powerhouse duo are joined on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series by Eisner-nominated colorist Lee Loughridge and letterer Jeff Eckleberry. Steering the ship is editor and packager Nate Cosby, one of the primary guides behind other chart-toppers like Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, ThunderCats, and more.
To mark this momentous occasion for Scoobies all over, Nate Cosby has assembled a gang of top tier cover artists to present gorgeous visions of everyone’s favorite slayers. David Nakayama, Amanda Conner, Joshua “Sway” Swaby, and Juliet Nneka are among the first wave. Additionally, Dynamite is remastering the first ever Buffy comic cover from 1998 by the legendary Arthur Adams.
Buffy collectors can also opt for a mystery blind bag, featuring three premium variant covers for the book selected randomly from a range of logo-less editions, line art presentations of art, and wholly original artwork exclusive to this offering including covers by Byrne, Declan Shalvey, and more icon covers by the likes of J. Scott Campbell.
