Start Your Engines! SPEED RACER ADVENTURES VOL. 1 From Papercuz Hits Top Speed
It’s great to see more Speed Racer, and Speed Racer Adventures Vol. 1 is coming soon from Papercutz & Tatsunoko Production.
Against all odds, Speed Racer is ready to floor it and prove he belongs in the driver’s seat!
Papercutz, the kids’ comics imprint of Mad Cave Studios, in partnership with Tatsunoko Production, is thrilled to hit the greenlight with SPEED RACER ADVENTURES VOL 1., an all-new original graphic novel from New York Times bestseller, multi-Eisner Award, and Harvey Award-winning creators Franco (Superman Family Adventures, Itty Bitty Hellboy) and Derek Charm (Star Wars Adventures, Jughead). This all-new spin on the classic anime icon revs up the humor, the heart, and the horsepower for a new generation.
The best race car driver in the world has been invited to drive the most advanced artificial intelligence car in the world. Speed Racer is not that driver, and the Mach Five is not that car — but that’s not going to stop him from entering that race and winning! When the world’s richest man uses unlimited funds to build the most technologically advanced car ever and hires Racer X to run a race he created, the deck is stacked against Speed Racer! It’s not going to be an easy race, but with his secret weapons, his friends and family, Speed has a pretty good chance of getting in the race and winning — and he’s going to hedge his bet with a whole lot of candy! Come for the laughs, the hijinks, and the amazing speeds the cars reach. Go Speed Racer, GO!
“I loved watching the Speed Racer cartoon as a kid,” said Franco. “It was my first real introduction to anime. It was a good show that had really engaging characters, was filled with fast-paced action, and high-stakes racing! And a really cool theme song! I tried to capture all of that with this new book for all ages to enjoy—well, except for the theme song… I’m still trying to figure out how to get that in graphic novel form.”
Derek Charm added, “I’m a huge fan of the visuals of the Speed Racer world and was excited to redesign the characters with a more youthful look while still keeping the color and excitement of the original comics and cartoons. Beyond being a fan of the character, a huge part of the appeal of the project was being able to work with Franco on a book-length story. There’s so much humor and action in this book, every page was fun to draw.”
Aimed at middle-grade readers (ages 7-12), Speed Racer Adventures is perfect for fans of the classic cartoon and beyond, blending humor, heart, and high-speed action in a way that parents and kids can enjoy together!
Speed Racer Adventures Vol. 1 will be available April 28, 2026, in hardcover ($17.99, ISBN 978-1-5458-2378-1) and paperback ($12.99, ISBN 978-1-5458-2379-8), available wherever books and comics are sold, as well as through Papercutz and Simon & Schuster.
A fallen world. A buried truth. A power that won’t stay silent.
From Nakama Press, with the English translation of Pandola coming in May 2026.
A rescue mission turns into a reckoning as the line between hero and villain blurs in the sands of the post-apocalypse…
Nakama Press invites readers into a spellbinding realm of shattered kingdoms, ancient secrets, and a power too immense to contain. PANDOLA—the acclaimed YA post-apocalyptic fantasy from Hong Kong-based manga artist Keung Chi Kit—arrives in English for the first time, presented in a newly translated edition by Book Buddy Media!
In a world where gods and mortals collide, destiny takes the form of a single boy. When a mysterious artifact awakens the power of Pandola, young heroes are thrust into a battle that will decide the fate of their realm. Across enchanted forests, corrupted kingdoms, and ancient ruins, they must uncover long-buried secrets—and face enemies who would rather see the world burn than lose their grip on power.
Keung Chi Kit’s worldbuilding is nothing short of operatic. Blending myth, magic, and the raw grit of a world clawing its way out of apocalypse, Pandola follows a young boy whose fate becomes entangled with a mysterious artifact—one capable of reshaping the very truth of their world. From enchanted forests to corrupted empires, the journey unfolds with cinematic scale and emotional weight, pulling readers into a destiny that refuses to be simple… or safe.
“I’m very happy Pandola will be released in English,” said Keung Chi Kit. “I added ten new pages to this edition to make the story more complete. The story is about people with different ideals confronting seemingly unbeatable enemies, and I poured many of my ideas and hopes into it. I hope readers find inspiration that resonates with situations in the real world.”
Delivering a bold adventure, Pandola immerses readers in a story where the line between hero and villain is never as it seems, and every revelation brings the characters closer to a reckoning centuries in the making. This English edition introduces a new audience to visionary storytelling, making it a standout addition to Nakama Press’s growing global library.
Perfect for fans of Made in Abyss, The Girl from the Other Side, and video-game epics rich in lore and atmosphere, Pandola offers sprawling adventure, intimate character work, and a mythos that rewards readers who love to uncover the hidden threads of a fractured world.
Pandola arrives in bookstores, comic shops, and digital platforms on May 5, 2026.
A Literary Icon, A Forbidden Love, A Life Rendered in Color
Virginia Woolf is featured in this upcoming graphic novel from Mad Cave Studios.
Mad Cave Studios proudly presents the first-ever print edition of Virginia Woolf, the acclaimed Comixology original graphic novel by Liuba Gabriele. Adapted from the Italian release by Becco Giallo, this vivid portrait explores Woolf’s creative brilliance and her passionate, complicated relationship with Vita Sackville-West.
As part of Mad Cave’s latest English print releases, Virginia Woolf offers an emotional LGBTQIA-focused retelling of their semi-secret love affair, drawing from Woolf’s novels and the pair’s letters to capture the intensity of her inner world. With expressive colorwork and intimate storytelling, Gabriele brings striking depth to a relationship that helped shape one of literature’s most influential voices.

An emotional and vibrant retelling of the famous author’s passions and torments, as well as her ardent relationship with Vita Sackville-West.
Virginia Woolf ended her own life in March 1941, driven by the strength of her grief for the world entering another war. She was a woman full of turbulent emotions and desires, ones which brought her both great joy and suffering. Told through loose connections with some of Woolf’s most beloved novels and using quotations from letters written by Woolf and Sackville-West, this graphic novel brings color and texture to this semi-secret love affair and boldly renders the waves and lulls of Woolf’s extraordinary mind.
Mad Cave Studios Editor, Sarah Brunstad, said, “I love this book, and so will anyone who has also had their life changed by a Virginia Woolf novel. Liuba Gabriele’s sparse text often pulls directly from Woolf’s personal writings, and paired with her wildly expressive colors, the result is a thoughtful and intimate view into the life of a woman who changed the world with the power of her pen.”
Perfect for admirers of literary biography, readers of Woolf’s work, educators, librarians, and anyone drawn to intimate, emotionally rich graphic storytelling.
Virginia Woolf is a 128-page paperback graphic novel that arrives May 26, 2026. Preorders are now open through local comic shops, booksellers, and Mad Cave Studios.
