Written by Daniel Blanchard, a UK comics writer, Comic Nasties is available now and features two horror tales.
Do you like innocent couples being terrorised by skulls in the wilderness? Possessed Gorillas?? Then this is the book for you! Nasty!!
With two one-shot horror tales, this is an entertaining read that offers two distinct stories.
In ‘The Curse Of The Skulls’, we get a chilling build-up as a couple make their way across the countryside.
It has a clever build-up as the skulls of the story gradually build in size and momentum. The relationship between the couple is touched on here, as it is the reason why they are on this retreat, and their reactions to each other are entertaining.
I like the artwork here, and the skulls themselves are excellent - I enjoyed the build, and the finish leaves everything to the imagination.
‘Silverback’ is something different and more direct.
It has a good build, although the cover and the name of this story slightly give away the main character. I would say that I enjoyed this story the most. The change in the usual routine was well done, as was the potential damage here as well.
There is a slight environmental message that I can get behind, too!
Two well-written story and for fans of the genre I would say these are ones to check out!
