Announcing The 2000 AD Art of Dave Gibbons Apex Edition
An absolute legend, and nice guy! Now Rebellion has announced the upcoming collection – The 2000 AD Art of Dave Gibbons Apex Edition.
Before Watchmen and Martha Washington, there was 2000 AD – and today, Rebellion is proud to announce The 2000 AD Art of Dave Gibbons: Apex Edition. Head to Near Mint Condition today to watch the full announcement video!
The latest in Rebellion’s Apex Edition oversized hardcover art books series will feature early work from one of Britain’s most distinctive comic artists, known the world over thanks to his partnership with Alan Moore on the groundbreaking superhero series Watchmen.
With his work appearing from the very first issue of 2000 AD, Gibbons quickly established himself as a pre-eminent talent — his clean lines, bold characters, eye for detail, and inventive imagination winning over a generation of readers and marking him out for greatness.

Due for publication on 11th November 2026, The 2000 AD Art of Dave Gibbons: Apex Edition will give readers a unique insight into this pivotal moment in Gibbons’ career, from establishing himself as the definitive artist on future sports strip Harlem Heroes and revamping the archetypal British comic character Dan Dare, to co-creating the genetically-modified sci-fi warrior Rogue Trooper — the subject of a forthcoming movie written and directed by Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code).
Lovingly put together by Rebellion’s experienced reprographics and editorial teams, this new 128-page collection will presents Gibbons’ work at its true size — all pages will be newly-scanned at high resolution from the original artwork, giving readers an unprecedented up-close look at the work of a comics master.
Measuring 481mm × 371 mm, this Apex Edition will feature work from Gibbons’ runs on Harlem Heroes and Dan Dare alongside pages from robot rescue squad series Ro-Busters, its anarchic successor ABC Warriors, Judge Dredd, and Rogue Trooper.
It will also include many pages from his first collaborations at 2000 AD with writer Alan Moore, including the time-travel short story ‘Chrono-Cops’. Following their work on 2000 AD, the pair would go on to redefine the superhero genre with their stunning work — alongside fellow 2000 AD alumni colourist John Higgins — on the twelve-issue 1986 series Watchmen for DC Comics, which remains one of the best-known and best-selling graphic novels of all time.
The 2000 AD Art of Dave Gibbons: Apex Edition (ISBN: 978-1-83786-761-5) is out on 11th November 2026. The standard edition will be available from all good comic book stores and the 2000 AD webshop at 2000AD.com, while a special, limited edition slipcase edition will be available exclusively from the 2000 AD webshop.

The Scream Halloween Special 2026 Brings Vengeful Violence This October
Building up for the spooky season already with a preview from Rebellion of the Scream Halloween Special 2026.
October 2026 will see the return of the Eisner-Nominated horror anthology Scream! Featuring a gruesome cadre of twisted storytellers, The Scream! Halloween Special 2026 will show you the true meaning of fear across 48 ghastly and grotesque pages! With comics from a murderously good lineup of top creators including Alex Paknadel, Babs Tarr, Zoe Tunnell, Zac Thompson and Vic Malhotra, Rebellion proudly present five new horror stories to keep you screaming this Halloween!

Scream! has been delivering chills to once-innocent readers for over forty years, horrifying generations of comic fans with tales to make your squirm with pleasure and disgust! Editor Chiara Mestieri says of the news: “I am so excited to be back for another Scream! special, and with this murderers’ row of creative teams, no less! It has been a blast to dive back into the shadows, and to dial up the shock, horror, blood and guts across these pages.”
In The Dracula File, Alex Paknadel and Alejandro Aragón reunite for a new story with Jason Wordie and Jonathan Stevenson which puts extra venom into the modern-day exploits of the legendary blood-sucking fiend. Describing the story, Aragón says: “I’ve always seen this story as being about one simple idea: facing a terrifying truth is easier when someone believes you. At its heart, it’s about the importance of not being completely alone.”
Then, cower as Zoe Tunnell, Chloe Brailsford, JP Jordan and Jodie Troutman team for Consent Is Key. Tunnell explains: “ We already live in an era of voracious capitalism and AI causing more doubt and confusion in what we are seeing and hearing than ever. How bad would it go when even your sleeping hours are monetized for labour? Your own choices made for you? All oh-so-helpfully guided by a major corporation that has Your Best Interests In Mind. They promise!”
Brailsford continues “Our story is about the exploitation of the body by corporations in the pursuit of capital. While income inequality grows every day, the poor have to take on lives of subjugation in an attempt to strive for the capitalist dream — that which unfortunately RELIES on poverty to work. It’s the true horror story of 21st Century capitalism!”
The malevolent A.I. Max returns for more close-quarters carnage as Zac Thompson and Mattia Monaco invite you to once again enter The Thirteenth Floor. “This is a look at A.I. psychosis in a way that only The Thirteenth Floor can pull off,” says Thompson. “When Maxwell Tower gets a new large language model upgrade, the building’s caretaker Max is pushed to make some ethical and moral concessions in order to best serve the wellbeing of his tenants. Thus begins a depraved character study of a man whose only companion is an A.I. who can’t say no - even when his behaviour becomes more and more disturbing…”
When a bog body is discovered during an archaeological dig, a PhD student finds that the project of a lifetime becomes an obsession with death! Join Oliver Gerlach and Vic Malhotra as they wade into the depths of human nature. Gerlach reveals: “The Bog Body is about exhaustion and burnout and the horror of being consumed by your work until there’s nothing left… and also about seeing how unpleasantly damp a story I can get away with!” Malhotra adds “Oliver sent over a story that has a perfect amount of terror and dread. Now it’s my job to draw it in a way that’s not too pretty, evokes the gnarly mood, and drags readers down into the depths of the deepest boggy waters.“
And our grand finale brings together Michael Gorman and Babs Tarr, who’d like to inform readers that the quaint sleepy town of Bishop’s End is in fact open for business, and any reports of haunts at the nearby petrol station are GREATLY exaggerated…
First published in 1984 and hosted by the mysterious editor “Ghastly McNasty”, Scream! has proudly scared generations of readers, with comics from legendary figures including Alan Moore, John Wagner, Cam Kennedy and many more, overseen by the legendary Barrie Tomlinson. This new Special celebrates their work, with a captivating cover from Salvador Lavado that celebrates Ghastly himself!
It’s the horror event of the year – if you’re looking for true terror this Halloween, make sure you pre-order your copy of The Scream! Halloween Special 2026 today! Available via Lunar Distribution in the US. You won’t regret it...
Haunting Mystery You’ll Never Leave This Place Alive Arrives October from IDW Dark
IDW Publishing has announced a new horror series, You’ll Never Leave This Place Alive, from their horror imprint, IDW Dark.
Five friends. Four houses. One seemingly perfect life… But no one who discovers the truth will leave it alive. an all-new nightmare
IDW Publishing’s hit horror imprint IDW DARK is proud to present readers withon October 14: YOU’LL NEVER LEAVE THIS PLACE ALIVE, wickedly crafted by the Eisner-nominated co-writers Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing (Batman - One Bad Day: Clayface) and rising horror artist Heather Vaughan (John Carpenter's Tales for a Halloween Night).

Phoebe Joplin has never questioned the world her parents built: a secluded community where she and her friends were raised to be smarter, stronger, and better than anyone else. No distractions. No dangers. No secrets. Until the night of their graduation…
When one of them dies under impossible circumstances, Phee starts to pull at the edges of her perfect life — and finds something far more terrifying than she ever imagined. Because this place isn’t a sanctuary. It’s a cage. And no one who finds out survives.
The paranoia-laced, socially conscious horror mystery will leave readers questioning reality… and reveal this crafted world is more of a nightmare than the idealistic dream its residents were expecting.
"We’re deconstructing a feeling that seems universal these days; our elders have a death grip on their power, without any intention of giving it up to the generations that come next,” stated Kelly. “YNLTPA is about growing up with the limitless potential of the future... and realizing how much it’s a lie we've been fed to keep us under the yoke of the past. Bringing this brutal experience to life is our artist and co-creator, Heather Vaughan, who brings an incredible amount of humanity to our cast. But it’s in our youthful leads that Heather's art really shines - you are going to fall in love with these young people, even as they go through the worst experience of their lives. What we've all crafted together is going to be tragic, painful, but above all else, sincere - with a future so uncertain, there's only one thing we can trust: you'll never leave this place alive."
"Some horror stories are about monsters in the dark. YNLTPA is about realizing the monsters raised you,” said Senior Group Editor Heather Antos. “Working with Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly on this series has been a dream in the darkest possible way. They’ve built a story that’s layered, brutal, and deeply emotional, and every issue gives artist Heather Vaughan opportunities to push the art into places that feel both haunting and deeply personal. Some horror comics will keep you up at night... this is one that will stick with you for years to come."
"YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE THIS PLACE ALIVE is in many ways a spiritual successor to our last creator-owned horror, The Principles of Necromancy - a dive into the promise and consequence of playing god with the blood of innocents,” commented Lanzing. “But the Hivemind book this reminds me of most is Clayface - One Bad Day. This is a deeply human story with intensely raw emotions - five best friends and their five mysterious parents, tearing one another apart for the promise of some impossible glory that's waiting just beyond their darkest actions. We're thrilled to be bringing this story to life with our long-time partner in crime, editor Heather Antos, at IDW Dark - and we're particularly excited to give our Clayface fans a new, brutal and emotional horror made just for them."
IDW DARK continues to slither into the minds of more readers and comic shops as the horror imprint reaches new horrifying heights. New titles inspired by the worlds of Smile and A Quiet Place are on the way as THE TWILLIGHT ZONE extends its run and more original horror is lurking right around the corner with must-read original terrors like OPERATION: IRON COFFIN, BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES: HALLOWEEN SPECIAL, and FATAL FEST.
Contact a comic shop near you to pre-order YOU’LL NEVER LEAVE THIS PLACE ALIVE #1 to guarantee your copies ahead of the September 7 deadline.
