A First Look at Disney’s The Sword in the Stone: Arthur’s Magical Kingdom
One of my favourite Disney movies, and Papercutz have a new adventure with The Sword in the Stone: Arthur’s Magical Kingdom.
Papercutz, the acclaimed kids’ comics imprint of Mad Cave Studios, in partnership with Disney, is thrilled to give a first look at THE SWORD IN THE STONE: ARTHUR’S MAGICAL KINGDOM. Written by Gabriel Valentin (Digital Lizards of Doom) and Michael J. Snow, illustrated by Lorenzo Colangeli (Becstar), and lettered by Chas! Pangburn (Double Booking), this 80-page middle-grade graphic novel is a grand continuation of the Disney classic film.

This epic journey follows young Arthur, now the rightful ruler of Camelot, as he embarks on a transformative journey guided by the whimsical and wise sorcerer, Merlin. When the powerful and malicious sorceress, Madam Mim, comes back from the great beyond, she brings not only a heart of revenge but new and powerful allies. In this tale, Arthur must grapple with the challenges of ruling a kingdom, while an evil spell threatens to rewrite history and destroy Camelot as we know it. Through Merlin’s guidance, Arthur learns that magic cannot solve all of life’s problems and is reminded of why he was chosen by the sword in the first place.
Fans of Disney’s classic The Sword in the Stone, both young and old, will delight in Arthur’s newest adventure. Embarking on a journey filled with magic and wonder, Arthur, Merlin, and Archimedes must overcome the greatest threat they have ever faced to save the Kingdom of Camelot.
The Sword in the Stone: Arthur’s Magical Kingdom hits shelves January 27, 2026, in hardcover ($14.99, ISBN 9781545812983), paperback ($9.99, ISBN 9781545812402), and digital formats. Order it today wherever books and comics are sold, or directly through Papercutz.
Vault And New York Times Bestselling Author Jeremy Robinson Announce New Horror Comic Series, Nectar.
A new horror series to look forward to from Vault Comics with Nectar coming in March 2026.
Vault and #1 Audible and New York Times bestselling author Jeremy Robinson have announced Nectar, a terrifying new horror comic book series. Written by Robinson and drawn by the phenomenal artistic duo Annapaola Martello and Francesco Francini, with colors by Steve Canon, letters by Jim Campbell, and design by Tim Daniel, Nectar will take readers on asupernatural thrill ride where horror comes on gossamer wings.
In Nectar, an island village off Salem, Massachusetts, is inundated by a strange species of butterflies that spread the Dancing Plague and have a very particular taste in nectar...human blood.
“When my wife, Hilaree, and I started spitballing story concepts, all I knew was that I wanted to create a new Victorian monster to rival Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster and Werewolves,” said Robinson. “Our twisted imaginations went to work and just minutes later we had blood sucking butterflies and the dancing plague wrapped together, along with the title: Nectar. I loved the idea so much, I started writing the script the next day.
“A month later, script complete, we signed on an amazing artist tag team—Annapaola Martello and Francesco Francini,” continued Robinson. “Every page they delivered was amazing, and then our colorist, Steve Canon, metamorphosed the black and white pages into something brilliant and beautiful to look at, butterflies and blood-soaked corpses alike! It’s rare to work on a project that is inspired from beginning to end. Nectar is one of those unique experiences that comes along just a few times in a creator’s career.”
Jeremy Robinson is the #1 Audible and New York Times bestselling author of nearly 100 novels, published in fourteen languages, including INFINITE, THE OTHERS, and the GOOD BOYS trilogy. His high-octane blend of science fiction, horror, and action has captivated millions of readers worldwide. A television series based on his cult-favorite novel PROJECT NEMESIS is currently in development with director Chad Stahelski (John Wick 1–4) and produced by Original Film and Sony Pictures Television.
Robinson’s latest creative frontier is Breakneck Comics, his imprint for publishing bold, bizarre, and beautifully illustrated graphic novels—three per year, to match the furious pace of his prose output.
Nectar issue #1 will hit shelves in comic book stores everywhere on March 4th, 2026. The series debut will feature variant covers from an incredible lineup of gorgeous variant covers from some of the biggest artists in the industry, including Chris Shehan, Jason Shawn Alexander, Maan House, Danny Luckert, Jonathan Wayshak, Suspiria, Jeremy Robinson, and more. Readers can pre-order the series at their local comic book store now.
Vault Unveils New Middle Grade Graphic Novel, Travis Muñoz And The Fire Of The Aztecs
More from Vault Comics with a new graphic novel aimed at middle-grade readers with Travis Muñoz And The Fire Of The Aztecs.
Vault is thrilled to unveil a first look at the incredible new middle grade graphic novel, Travis Muñoz and the Fire of the Aztecs. Presented by Emmy Award-winning actor and UN Women Spokesperson, Karla Souza, Travis Muñoz and the Fire of the Aztecs is about Aztec mythology, best friends, and baseball—from breakout creators Mark Stack and Anne Marcano!

Before the eclipse changed everything, Travis Muñoz's biggest problems were math class and whether he would still be able to play on the same baseball team as his best friend Yolanda. Now, Travis has to deal with his uncle Hector telling him he's been chosen as the next warrior priest for an Aztec sun god. Which means, it’s his job to make sure the sun rises every morning. And his job to battle feathered snakemen who attack at random. Travis could probably manage both, if it weren't for the fact that Yolanda seems mad at him for being chosen over her. At least it's not the end of the world…yet.
“I wrote this book for one person and one person only-- my niece,” said Stack. “She'll be eleven when the book comes out which is around the time I started thinking about a lot of the ideas that show up in it. How am I like my friends? How am I not? Why do we have this thing in common, this common heritage, but have such different experiences with it? Like our character Travis, I didn't really know how to talk about that or who to talk about that with. I felt a little cut-off from the language and the people I needed for that. Travis and Yolanda, our book's co-lead, are both Mexican American but their families and their experiences are genuinely very different. A lot of their conflict comes first from trying to pretend those differences don't exist and then believing that they're irreconcilable. I hope kids like my niece read our book and see that there's no expiration date on connecting with your heritage and embracing a larger community that can't be put into one, easily-defined box.”
“There’s a void in the world of children’s fantasy books—especially for kids like mine, who are growing up Mexican-American and hungry to see themselves in the stories they love,” said Souza. “This book fills that void with thrilling adventure, rich Mexican mythology, and characters who reflect the beauty of our culture, our names, our family dynamics, and our power. At last, a story that makes our kids feel seen, celebrated, and connected to their ancestry. I’m overjoyed to share it with the world.”
Travis Muñoz and the Fire of the Aztecs will be available in stores everywhere in April, 2026.
New TMNT Run Launches With Shocking Plot Twist
I love this series and it's great to see this deep dive into what is happening in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from IDW Publishing.
The new era of the best-selling TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (TMNT) comic book series from IDW Publishing kicked off a brand new storyline with a jaw-dropping twist that has left fans stunned. From the all-star creative team of Gene Luen Yang and Freddie E. Williams II, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #13– which received more than 100k orders and is now available in comic shops – reveals that the mysterious and lethal new villain Ujigami is actually the recently resurrected father of the TMNT, Master Splinter!

“Splinter's return to IDW's TMNT universe is huge – what an incredible way for Jason Aaron and Juan Ferreyra to end their run! Freddie and I wanted to make sure it was meaningful,” commented Yang. “I thought a lot about my own experience of fatherhood. My wife and I have four kids, and I've been tempted again and again to do everything in my power to make their lives as easy as possible, to keep them safe. But then... that's not always what's best for the kids, is it? Especially after they become teenagers. Great Turtles stories have always been about family, so Freddie and I are leaning into that. I can't wait for fans to read what else we have in store! And it's not just Splinter. There's another character who will soon be making an appearance – their first in the IDW incarnation of TMNT!”
“There is something undeniably powerful about the loss of a parent. When the Turtles lost Splinter – their master, their teacher, their father – back in TMNT (2011) #100, it changed the brothers and their world forever,” added Group Editor Jake Thomas. “When we discussed bringing Splinter back, we knew the family couldn't just return to business as usual. The far-reaching story Gene and Freddie are just starting here is not about resetting the status quo, it is about questioning and examining the nature of family, fear, loss, love, and sacrifice, all through the incredible action, hijinks, heart, and humor that give these Turtles their power. Buckle up, this is going to be a wild ride.“
Here’s an early look at the action-packed opening sequence from TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #14, on sale January 14, and covers teasing what’s to come in the story.
