Some exciting news from Time Bomb Comics and a new Kickstarter running now!
Time Bomb Comics is delighted to announce that Accent UK’s creator and founder, Dave West, will be joining the company.
September 2022 marks the 15th year of publishing for Time Bomb Comics who, since their very small press beginning back in September 2007, have steadily evolved to become one of the mainstays of the British comics publishing community, including a recent licensing deal with Gerry Anderson’s Anderson Entertainment and comics available in newsagents and comic shops across the UK.
Now, as they enter their 16th publishing year, Time Bomb Comics are delighted to be able to announce that Dave West, best known for being one half of indie publishers Accent UK with Colin Mathieson, is joining Time Bomb Comics to be part of their core publishing team alongside business manager David Morris and publisher Steve Tanner.
As a writer, West will also be bringing with him a range of cult classic titles formerly published by Accent UK, including supernatural western series Westernoir, Kia Wordsmith and Stephenson’s Robot, which will now be published under the Time Bomb Comics banner. Dave will also be developing further titles for Time Bomb and play a key role in the company’s future.
Tanner spoke about the exciting move:
"Dave, Colin and Accent UK were a key inspiration in the formation of Time Bomb Comics fifteen years ago. I'm delighted that Dave will now be part of our editorial team and brings his brilliant range of creator owned titles with him."
On his reasons for making this move, West commented:
“I’ve enjoyed the past 21 years working with Colin as part of Accent UK but as time has passed we’ve realized that we’re both looking for different things from the company. A lot of the things I’m looking for are either being achieved by Time Bomb already or are on their Roadmap and so it makes a lot of sense for me to bring my experience and books to the Time Bomb brand to hopefully make it an even stronger presence in the Independent UK comic scene than it already is”.
This news is perfectly timed to coincide with the newest volume of Westernoir (written by West, art by Gary Crutchley, colours by Matt Soffe) hitting Kickstarter, where the popular title has already achieved its full funding goal with 17 days left for stretch goals. This is an exciting start to an important new collaboration. The title, a supernatural horror western, is a good example of the sort of exciting cross-genre comics West is well known for, and the expert storytelling he will bring to Time Bomb.
WesterNoir - Volume 2
After the shocking ending of Volume 1, Josiah Black will discover that man is far deadlier than any monster he has faced.
There is 17 days left on the Kickstarter, and there are digital and print versions of the comic, along with catch-up options.
It's sad but also exciting news.
