Haunted Miami Listings and a Marriage on the Rocks: Comics’ Next Horror Obsession
Blending haunted homes, Miami real estate, and marriage issues, it’s Red Light Properties: Unfinished Business, a hardcover from Kinjin Storylab.
Would you live in a home that used to be haunted? Let’s say the price was unbeatable… and the ghost was guaranteed never to return.
Kinjin Storylab proudly presents RED LIGHT PROPERTIES: UNFINISHED BUSINESS, a 340-page, full-color oversized hardcover collecting the first season of Dan Goldman’s cult-favorite tropical horror series, now available in standard and deluxe slipcase editions.Written, illustrated, designed, and published by Goldman, Red Light Properties is a sun-bleached, trippy tropical horror where reported hauntings are rising faster than the property values, and only the Psychedelic Shamanism of a tiny Miami Beach real estate agency stands against the evils of late-stage American capitalism. Kinjin Storylab’
In a tourist trap where every listing hides a ghost story, Red Light Properties blends legit scares with humor, heart, and satire to tell a slow-burn epic that occupies a space all its own. Reflectings ethos, it’s a design-forward series built for readers of mature graphic novels, psychedelic and visionary art books, and anyone drawn to sharp, character-driven narratives.

Jude Tobin is a psychic who sees ghosts. His realtor wife Cecilia, sees an opportunity. As Red Light Properties, he exorcises haunted homes across South Florida, then she sells them at a discount to renters shut out of the housing market. They’re using shamanism to carve their own niche in the real estate market while hacking it for the rest of us.
But after six years of struggling to keep their business afloat and raise their son, their marriage is starting to buckle. In the spirit world, Jude is peerless, getting unquiet ghosts to move on, but here in reality, Cecilia’s stuck running literally every other goddamn aspect of their business that drains them both of every drop of lifeforce.
What was their shot at the American Dream now feels like a curse, unraveling listing by listing, while around them, sea levels rise, the economy is tanking, the rich get greedier, and somehow, Miami feels more haunted than ever before.
Dan Goldman spoke of his connection to the series:
“Red Light Properties has been with me since my early career, and has continued evolving alongside all aspects of my storytelling practice. Unfinished Business wasn’t just a wink-wink title about the exorcism biz; the real unfinished business was between me and these characters, who never, ever stopped moving around in my head. With this book, I’m demarcating this as the series’s new beginning and continuing the story from here—
Being the series’ publisher lets me (finally) make 100% of the creative decisions, meaning I’m able to produce a graphic novel that’s also a design object that creates an immersive portal for the reader. Opening the Unfinished Business landscape covers double-wide, you immediately fall into a striped liminal space where the book introduces itself, where you slowly float out of your world and into the world of Red Light Properties. What follows is a whole season’s worth of hauntings and complex character arcs told through comics and design."
Bending the sleazy stress of Better Call Saul with the paranormal terror of The Conjuring, Red Light Properties carves out its own space within horror comics: high-stakes character-driven stories that tackle big ideas about love and loss, the afterlife, and why people go to Florida to die.
The oversized hardcover is available in both a standard and deluxe slipcase edition. Red Light Properties: Unfinished Business is packed from cover to cover with story, art, and worldbuilding, including over 100 pages of previously unpublished work, plus 50 new pages of epistolary worldbuilding.
Red Light Properties: Unfinished Business is now available at https://shop.kinjin.co/.
Picking up one week after the end of the book, Red Light Properties’ second season is already in progress, with serialized stories released via Kinjin Storylab’s newsletter ahead of its next hardcover collection.
