Vampirella Bites Into Summer in Special by Erica Schultz & Adriana Melo!
A vampiric summer special is coming soon, with some short stories in Vampirella Summer Special 2026.
Dynamite Entertainment announces a sun-soaked showcase for the Daughter of Drakulon, as this July brings Vampirella Summer Special 2026 from the perfectly-paired team of Erica Schultz and Adriana Melo!

Even immortal vampires (or is she an alien? both!) need a little bit of time off for rest and relaxation. Diehard fans know too that Drakulonians do not share the weakness to sunlight that traditional undead vampires do, so she's totally clear to hit the beach. But despite being shore-compatible, other parts of Vampirella's life inevitably lead to complications in even the best planned vacation getaways!
Suddenly in "Rising from the Ashes" the raven-haired, sharp-toothed antiheroine finds herself a whopping 2,000 years in the past. Immediately up to her eyes in drama - instead of the surf she was relishing - it'll only get even crazier when the nearby volcano starts rumbling and is certainly not dormant. Vampi was looking for an island getaway, and she's getting more than she bargained for!
This epic, extra-sized issue is bloodsuckingly brought to fans by writer Erica Schultz. This marks a heralded return to Dynamite for her, following fan-favorite runs on Charmed and Xena. Her star has only soared even higher in the meantime, with prolific contributions to Marvel's X-Men, Daredevil, and Spider-Man franchises, including steering the first-ever Hallows' Eve series, as well as long runs with Spawn.
Schultz is joined by a Dynamite family newcomer in comparison, as beloved industry veteran Adriana Melo takes on the task of bringing this idyllic vacation gone wrong to the page, following only one past cover for Red Sonja during the run of her frequent collaborator Gail Simone. Melo is a perfect fit for Vampirella, with extensive and cherished contributions to titles including Birds of Prey, Power Girl, Witchblade, Ms. Marvel, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, and more.
The Vampirella Summer Special 2026 is complemented by a trio of tantalizing covers. Melo herself as well as superstar Shannon Maer capture the seasonal spirit, and are joined by CucumberCosplay.
Collectors can also opt for the chase, with a premium mystery blind bag offering available, featuring three limited-edition variants of the issue.
Final artwork will be in color. Melo's gorgeous pencil and inking work is being showcased at this stage.
Red Sonja: Noir Presents a Special Pulpy Saga!
An extra-length special featuring Red Sonja in Red Sonja Noir: The Plunder & The Princess.
The She-Devil With a Sword sneaks into a moody special this summer, as Red Sonja Noir: The Plunder & The Princess presents an extra-length epic from pulp powerhouse David Avallone and partner in crime Edson Novaes.
Not unlike many fiery-haired femme fatales from classic noir stories, Red Sonja has found herself in many tales straddling genres. A master of noir, pinup heroines, and awesome action, super scribe Avallone is ready to put his Hyrkanian heroine through the genre blender once more in the follow up to last year's acclaimed Red Sonja Noir.
“Last year’s Red Sonja Noir: The Crimson Calypso was a fun experiment in genre-mash-up, placing the She-Devil with a Sword in a classic detective story… which some eagle-eyed fans easily spotted," said writer David Avallone. "I had a lot of fun with it, and Dynamite must have been satisfied because they asked for a second issue. This one is another fun riff (on a more obscure story this time), and Edson did a terrific job bringing the complicated tale to life!”

In her latest tale, Red Sonja travels to an exclusive wedding on the island of Zaralina, an enclave for the rich and wealthy merchant class. She's not a mere guest, but has been hired for her prowess in protection. Events take a harrowing turn for the dark and nefarious when an army of masked bandits, a powerful wizard, and a massive fearsome dragon crash the reception!
For this fast-paced 40-pager, the Avallone and Novaes-led interior creative team are joined by a trio of terrific covers. Lesley "Leirix" Li contributes a moody, captivating take on the character befitting the title. Fan-favorite Robert Hack brings his trademark retro aesthetic, even applying weathering effects as a cherry on top. Cosplayer Molly Stewart showcases the power of the She-Devil. Fans can also ask their retailers about the premium mystery blind bag cover, an exciting way to track down premium editions of these treacherously alluring covers, and more surprises!"
Red Sonja She-Devil With a Sword Shines in Dynamite’s Next Compact Edition!
A new compact edition from Dynamite with Red Sonja Compact Edition Volume 1 - coming soon!
Following the announcement of the debut of Dynamite's line of Compact Editions with pulse-pounding Pathfinder fables, the line expands later this year with the She-Devil With a Sword slashing into her first volume. Red Sonja She-Devil With a Sword Compact Edition Volume 1 is solicited in Dynamite's April for July Dispatches, set for release in 2026.

Know also, O Prince, that in the selfsame days that the Cimmerian did stalk the Hyborian Kingdoms, one of the few swords worthy to cross with his was that of a warrior-woman out of majestic Hyrkania. She, the mother of vengeance, hunter of evil, all fear for your souls... fear the RED SONJA!
Stuffed with over 200 pages of ravishing Red Sonja action for just $9.99, this is a can't-miss volume and a perfect introduction to the character. Presented at 5.5 by 8.5 inches, the book includes the massive historic Red Sonja #0 from 2005, followed by the first couple arc.
The critically acclaimed Dynamite era of Red Sonja started with writing by superstars Michael Avon Oeming (Powers, Thor) and Mike Carey (X-Men Legacy, Hellblazer) with a crop of sword and sorcery master illustrators led by Mel Rubi (Doctor Strange) and gorgeous colors by Richard Isanove (Wolverine: Origin).
It all started here, with beloved runs that followed by Brian Reed, Walter Geovani, Eric Trautmann, Luke Lieberman, Joshua Ortega, Frank Cho, Arvid Nelson, Gail Simone, Marguerite Bennett, Aneke, Amy Chu, Carlos Gomez, Erik Burnham, Mark Russell, Mirko Colak, Mirka Andolfo, Giuseppe Cafaro, Torunn Grønbekk, Christopher Priest, and so many more. With future Compact Editions liable to loop in some of these other fan-favorite storylines.
