From Ben Edwards is the second fun Northern Wildling book. I was lucky enough to have an advance review of the first book, and now I’ve had a chance to look at the second one.
Northern Wildling - Book 2 is a collection of stories that touch upon events in and around the world of TTRPG. They'll make you laugh, cry, and everything in-between!
True events in an entirely made up world & a love letter to TTRPG.
With a love for comics, TTRPG & making people laugh this started as a real passion project for my Patreon page which eventually snowballed into the first book of hopefully many.
I really enjoyed the first book of Northern Wildling, and I’m glad to see the teased second book come live on Kickstarter as well.
I’m not someone who has done any TTRPGs, but I am very appreciative and aware of the format, tropes and gameplay. To be honest, it’s something I have wanted to do, but time does seem to get in the way.
This was another highly entertaining and enjoyable book. The humour involved is right up my alley and combines the ‘real’ world and the TTRPG world excellently. I can easily imagine situations happening in real life, and I’m sure that other TTRPG players and fans can also attest to them.
In addition, the art is excellent. There is a great showing of both the game world, with various fantasy elements, and the gaming world, with the different players and their reactions.
This is a book that you can open up anywhere and enjoy, or work your way through with a knowing look on your face.
