Yes, I have already reviewed this excellent comic, but after I had done my weekly reading, this issue stuck with me for a long time. Casey Jones #4 from IDW Publishing is my pick this week!
I’ve always been a fan of the writer Alex Paknadel and his wide selection of work, and he not only has nailed-on Casey Jones and the surrounding cast after the reformation of the TMNT, but he has also introduced us to a new villain with his own issues.
I am struggling to think of a villain quite like Ludovic. Yes, he may not be the ‘top’ villain, but his story and methods are unique and really pull you into the difficulties that Casey may have in facing this foe. Throwing in the drug and its effects on Casey, this mini-series has really found its swing as we come towards the final arc.
Artist Amancay Nahuelpan has also shown us the struggles within and without of these two key characters, who face physical and psychological issues. The calm of Ludovic’s youth is juxtaposed with the brutality of his anguish and torture,e and they make a great team.
