Kill All Immortals II #5 from Dark Horse Comics, being my Pick Of The Week, makes it the second time for this series.
When a Viking is born to lead, they lead, no matter the cost. With little time left, Frey and the remnants of her family must pierce their enemies’ stronghold and confront their greatest adversary yet. But with the ability to return to immortality in reach, and Frey’s barbaric father seeking to regain power, Frey must decide the family’s fate once and for all.
Author: Zack Kaplan
Artists: Fico Ossio, and Oliver Barrett
It’s tough to say any more about this issue on top of my review (below), but what I will say is a strong series. So, for this last issue of the arc, we get some closure with regards to the storyline of the arc, an ample tease as to what to pick up next and some brilliant action.
The writing is excellent, giving us a real family affair along with the other members of the immortals who live around us, but are unknown. There is some brilliant work with the flashback, which leads directly into the ending.
As far as the art is concerned, it creates an action-movie-style, kinetic energy that makes it worth a re-read. The colouring and lettering complement the story being told and enhance the overall feel of the issue.
Each arc gets stronger and stronger, and Kill All Immortals III can’t come soon enough!
Review: Kill All Immortals II #5
The completion of this second story arc, Kill All Immortals II #5, gives us plenty of action and a setup for October’s release of Kill All Immortals III from Dark Horse Comics.
