So now the stage is set, and Sam has ID’d her foe But this town’s not big enough for both, so one of them must go But first, there’s a meeting, where they’ll come face-to-face If they can’t work it out, there will be a gruesome race But it’s not quite that simple, and for once, Sam is scared This foe knows quite a bit about her, and the things of which she cares

I started reading this with a degree of trepidation. I seriously wondered if this issue would feature another bait and switch. The last issue was clever and enjoyable in a weird way, and I wondered if the story would be stretched a little more.
On the other hand, what we did get makes the story far more interesting. Sam knows who did it, and now is the time for the confrontation. It’s exciting and shows how Sam’s trips to the city have been seen. I like the way this is built up; you feel the tension Sam is feeling. You wonder how Sam is going to deal with it…
Until it is taken out of her hands paws.
As the end third of the story progresses, everything you may have guessed has been thrown out, with Sam sweating, and now the dynamic has changed - and I loved it. Where to next?
The artwork and colouring continue to portray the story brilliantly. From the facial expressions - including the change as people leave or enter the room, to the colours used - the read on the paint and the dead body parts.
This continues to be a gem of a read.
