Deathstalker finds himself once again caught between forces larger than himself-a virgin worshiping cult, a sorcerer hell-bent on saving the world through mad science, and the pissed-off army of the Abraxeon kingdom...not to mention his ex-lover, Princess Evie. Monsters, magic, and mayhem abound...can't a guy just swing his sword anymore?
Writers: Slash & Tim Seeley, Artist: Jim Terry, Colorist: Kurt Michael Russell, Letterer: Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, Designer: Andworld Design and Cover A: Nathan Gooden
Vault Comics has some excellent fantasy titles; there is always room for more. Deathstalker allows us to jump right into the world with a little bit of knowledge at the beginning, and then we are on it!
After an adventure, Deathstalker returns after a rescue and a night of passion with the rescue. That may be the problem, though, as the cult around her, led by her brother, wants her back and/or some form of revenge.
What follows is an entertaining set of battles, peppered with dark humour and nudity from all sides, as well as some exciting magic and technological aspects.
This was a fun read and works well as a starting issue. It also sets up what is to come for the future—fist bumps and swords included!
I loved the art style, and some reaction shots and character moments veered from being funny to action-packed.
