Out this week from Zenescope Entertainment is a new on-shot in Fairy Tale Team-Up: Robyn Hood & Mystere.
Mary Medina has had her hands full these last few years to say the least and recently she’s experienced some not-so-fun times being a target of the Congregation of the Dead, an ancient society of like-powered individuals who can control spirits, among other things, similar to Mary when she is in her Mystere persona.
And Robyn Hood, well, let’s just say she continues finding herself in trouble that most of the time she puts herself right in the middle of.
So when a friend reaches out to both of these heroes for help from beyond the land of the living--nothing will ever be the same as they are pulled deep into a muddy mystery that will change everything they know about the world they live in!

Building on the most recent adventures in the pages of Grimm Fairy Tales, Mystere returns in this team-up one-shot, and this time it’s Robyn Hood with her.
This is an interesting read that adds some new dimensions to the threat of the Congregation of the Dead. After a coup within their ranks, they have their own plans, and now things are really escalating.
The powers behind them seem very similar to Mystere’s, and I like how she has a similar threat. However, this problem is also something for the wider Grimm Universe.
This adventure brings together some different aspects of Robyn’s and Mystere’s worlds and adds in returning characters and relationships. Using these characters makes a handle link for the two and looks to build a wider story arc across the characters.
This issue had a good mixture of action and magic while building on the relationships and bonds between the characters, which will hopefully build into what this darkness is foreboding.
I enjoyed the art and action sequences in this story. Combining magic and some different locations - from the city to the desert and beyond.
This looks to be an excellent prologue to what is to come…
