New this week is Grimm Fairy Tales #88 from Zenescope Entertainment. Let’s see how that last issue cliffhanger is resolved!
Life is but a nightmare if you’re Skye Mathers, the Guardian of the Nexus. Trapped within a world outside of her control with choices to make that could destroy everything she has spent these past years trying to build. Can she emerge from this tale unscathed, or will her world change to something so unrecognizable that she won’t be the same ever again?
Story: Joe Brusha, Ralph Tedesco, Dave Franchini & David Wohl, Writer: Dave Franchini, Artwork: Babisu Kourtis Colors Jorge Cortes, Letters: Taylor Esposito (Of Ghost Glyph Studios), Editor: Dave Franchini, and Production & Design: Christopher Cote
This issue had an interesting addition, which, while I didn’t see it coming, does make sense.
Slightly spoiled in the preview, this issue has another guest star who impacts the result of this story arc.
This issue had a lot going on with magic, action and an interesting solution to the problem, which I don’t believe is done and dusted. Nevertheless, that will probably be a story for another day. What does happen is that there is an ending leading into the next adventure for the group at Arcane Acre and possibly some new allies for what may come next.
Gretel seems to be still thrashing around now that she is alone, and some of her darker impulses come out here; this will be a continuing problem, and I wonder if it will entirely turn her.1
The artwork was entertaining, and the lettering helped with the possessed people, adding an excellent dimension to it all.
Roll on the next issue.
