Review: Guns Of Brixton #3
The third issue is out now!
With the attack on London really kicking off, what's next in Guns Of Brixton #3?
After being rescued in mysterious circumstances, Rachael, Bella, Jessy and Sheena find that the resistance to the ongoing outbreak goes far deeper than they ever would have thought.
The group are now faced with a choice – do they stay in the safety of the underground bunker they are in, or do they go back out and fight to help save the city they love.
Story: Sean Golding
Art: Renzo Podesta
Before we get to the interesting addition to the resistance, we see how the outbreak has escalated. Not only humans but also other animals are affected. This is shown in an excellent way, and it not only ups the threat level but also adds a degree of unpredictability to the story. Something to save for later, perhaps?
The mysterious group is an interesting addition to the story. They are another group on the other side that seems to have some power from the underground, and they add a new dimension to the story as we learn more about what is going on.
This has the added advantage of using their considerable resources to determine the cause of this ‘zombie’ outbreak.
These resources also increase the action level with heavy artillery and more close-up attack methods, making the injury in the last issue a moot point, but adding something new and slightly familiar!
The final third of the story has some excellent action, with vehicles, guns, and more—some fast-moving art and excellent colouring to accompany it.
This was an excellent issue of a fantastic story. There is more to discover here, with some shadowy characters and an interesting ending that will make the next issue interesting to see where it goes from here…
