The King of Crooks latest heist has gone badly wrong, he has been trapped in Maxwell Towers by the caretaker computer programme running the building and Robot Archie is closing in on capturing the arch-criminal. Forced to face his fears on the nightmare inducing-thirteenth floor and evade the team-up of two AI programmes, this could be the master thief's last stand.
This eighties-set thriller is brought to you by Paul Grist (Jack Staff) and Jimmy Broxton (Goldtiger).
The Spider is in trouble. And that’s not just because he got shot during a heist gone bad. Nor is it because the robot Archie is after him.
No, he doesn’t know (yet) how much trouble he is in - the reason is that he has run to the tower block with the infamous 13th Floor!
In another excellent crossover, this issue takes some classic characters and brings us new adventures, crossing over and reinventing them for a new audience.
This is an issue that you can get into quickly. Master criminal - Check, homicidal computer - Check, Robot action man - Check. That’s pretty much all you need to know.
Then you get taken on a highly entertaining adventure as Archie, The Spider, and Max have some clever conversations, attacks, and defences. It’s well played out and builds into the larger story being told around The Spider and the supporting cast.
There is some fun to be had with the art and colours here as well, with the various scenes working well and not feeling too cramped.
You also get a classic backup story that is as good today as it was when it originally came out!
