The excellent issue #150 of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is here, and IDW Publishing gives us a fantastic issue.

Everything has been building to this double-size celebration! And here at the end, we’ll return to the start.

Donatello has been searching for his future self to understand how he can fight Armaggon. Now, knowing where he is (or should we say ‘when he is’?) Donatello is racing to his past to convene with his future. Can he get there and learn what he needs to before Armaggon eats the TMNT out of the timeline?

This epic finale from writer Sophie Campbell and a roster of all-star artists pays off on years of IDW storytelling, reckoning with the history of the Turtles while also setting the stage for the next mutation of must-read TMNT comics!

Author: Sophie Campbell
Artists: Vincenzo Federici, and Fero Pe

For a large issue that has been built for a very long time, this issue does not elicit the bloated feelings you would expect.

Nor does it feel rushed, as we bounce around the time stream, dodging and weaving along with mainly Donatello. Nevertheless, this was a fantastic issue with an emotional ending for long-time fans.

Donatello’s understanding of Armaggon allows him to devise a plan to fight against it, defeat what he had created, and start things afresh. It’s well played out, with the seeds of this success being planted many, many issues before. The bringing of it all together was excellent, though, and I loved the feelings in this issue as we go to the end times as well as a new look at the beginnings of it all.

As Doctor Who may say, there are some interesting fixed points, and Donatello understands this - even though he may not like it. This was clever too, and the legend of the four brothers will continue.

The whole issue mirrors the series well, with family and action neatly combined in a vast, multi-faceted story. There are some nice callbacks and character moments.

The art duties are admirable, with the action and mystic items playing out well and showing the excellent flow of the story.

What next for the TMNT?

The Strange Case Of 'Tales From The Quarantine'
On the darker side of crowdfunders though, some will know that some projects will fall through.
