The appearance of a rogue mech cunningly helps us look at the family dynamic going on here. Even with her skills, Kit is feeling out of her depth against the robot. And robot it seems to be, with no pilot in it. The help she is getting from her father doesn't seem to be helping, but in an interesting point, her brother steps in.
It's well done and features a good sense of timing for it all. The Brother/Sister/Father relationship is very interesting and you can see how this is going to boil to a head soon. I like the way that this relationship is told, even with the addition of waffles, things do not seem good in the household. We get a new member added to the cast too - away from the family, but still part of the setup. There are some hints towards others too, and I wonder how involved they will be. This one has been given a name, so I expect to see more of them.
I enjoyed the art here, signifying many different emotional situations. The battle was well done and links well to the instructions being given. The differing feelings of the siblings were well told with the colours and angles of the shots too.
This continues to be an interesting read, with some bombastic battles to family drama. Very interesting.
