The Void is available now directly from Martin Simpson. It's a special mini-comic about a difficult time for all of us.
From Martin himself, check out what he says:
Created at the height of the first COVID pandemic lockdown of 2020, ‘The Void’ aptly explores themes of fear and isolation via the story of a man who has become hopelessly trapped within a mysterious spacial anomaly.
In his increasing desperation, is this lone astronaut simply loosing his mind, or could his strange new environment be actually trying to communicate with him?
I’ve always been a fan of Martin’s work—not only is he a fantastic guy, but I love his art and storytelling. I’ve read Skrawl Magazine and Nord, and I’m also looking forward to reading Rasp!1
And now we have a surprise mini-comic, The Void, which is available now.
This is a fantastic and slightly haunting read. Indeed, it is something that makes you think as you finish it off. There is only one character - the control doesn’t count - and you follow him as he delves deeply into this void in a dark and lonely place.
There is some excellent use of the art here, which not only brings you into the void but also gives you the process of time and emotion throughout the story. I love how it can feel both open in the panels across the void and cramped and slightly suffocating.
There is a feeling of imprisonment and then release, which is told excellently in both the storytelling and the art, an excellent combination!
Something different, clever and worth picking up!

I got a chance to read an ashcan at MCM Comic Con, and it looks fantastic!
