Pooh Vs Bambi #1 (of 3)

This story in the 100 Acre Wood certainly hits the ground running, with some excellent action and setting of the scene.

Things go rapidly downhill, though, as Pooh and his team come across something that will change their world.

I really enjoy all of the references in this story, with not only Pooh and Bambi being featured front and centre we also get Tigger, Piglet and Christopher Robin. It’s clever, tongue in cheek, and has a fun, action-packed adventure.

The story itself is well played out, with some good action and a dive into the dodgy things that led to the formation of the team of these animals. That is the crux of the story, and I like this type of story. Yes, there is a lot to squeeze in, but this is a three-issue mini-series, and this first issue really sets the scene well.

An excellent beginning, featuring some classic characters.

After Skye’s adventure with Mary over the last few issues, it is now the time for Belle.

This is, first up, a good idea, as it not only helps move Belle’s story onward but also brings her into the Grimm Universe more.

The linkup between the two is well played out, with Skye wanting to take some time off and relax in Greece1, of course this doesn’t go to plan and the linkup between the two works well as Skye is acting as a diversion, while Belle does her thing.

Of course, things don’t go as planned, and we get an interesting new villain and different powers in play. This also helps with the world-building around Skye and the various factions and people who can cause problems for any of the characters.

There is a good amount of action here, mainly featuring Belle, but Skye does get her licks in. There is some threat at the end, and I feel that it links well to what we see at the beginning of this issue.
